Cafe Bon Bon

There it is, all finished and ready for show. First drawing in the new series I started about Espresso.

I was talking to my buddy James one day and we start talking about espresso and I said hey, I’ll go to Wiki to check things out. LO AND BEHOLD! there are a lot of different drinks that can be made like, Cafe Bon Bon (as seen above), Kennedy, Red Eye, so on and what forth. So I wanted to see what I could come up with for the different names of drinks and this is the first one I completed, just to see if I wanted to keep drawing them, and I think I will.

Cafe Bon Bon sounded pretty funny when I first read it and then I started doing some research on it. It’s one shot espresso with condensed milk, a really sweet drink. I’m guessing it’s for after dessert kinda drink. Reminds me of a Vietnamese Coffee which is coffee with condensed milk instead of espresso.

When I do my work, I kinda work my way backwards. I start with technique first and I have to nail how I want it to look before I get started on composition and everything. GOTTA! Make sure that colors blend like they do in the real drink, so after a lot of research and testing I’m pretty happy with how the espresso and the milk sit.

Not sure which one to draw next but the “Kennedy” has a lot of potential.

*End Transmission*

And yes we do have a Cafe Bon-Bon drink.
Its made with half and half like a breve, cinnamon, nutmeg, chocolate syrup, and a double espresso.
